There are around 403 language in Australia, out of them over 226 are living and other languages are no longer active. There is no official language of Australia  (de jure language) but English is considered as the de facto national language of Australia which is spoken by all the people. Over 73% of the population of Australia speak English language and the next common language spoken  is Mandarin which is the biggest non-English dialect spoken in Australia. Mandarin is spoken by 2.5%, Arabic by 1.4%, Cantonese by 1.2%, Vietnamese by 1.2% and Italian by 1.2%.
