The government of Australia is sending recruitment officers to foreign country to select and bring the best overseas workers to Australia under the Global Talent Independent Program. Australia to employ the best overseas workers and this program is organized to attract skilled and talented migrants from all around the world to Australia. The officers task is to select professionals from different fields, especially in tech sector. The target sectors are as follows:

2. Space and Advanced Manufacturing
3. FinTech
4. Energy and Mining Technology
5. MedTech
6. Cyber Security
7. Quantum Information, Advanced Digital, Data Science and ICT

The Home Affairs officers will be placed in the central overseas locations to find out the best people in high growth industries and encourage them to come to Australia to help grow those industries. This will help employ large numbers of Australians in high skill jobs.

According to the Home Affairs website, the global talent officers will work with local industries to identify talented people and “attend key industry events and expos, and promote life in Australia”. The highly skilled workers will be encouraged to apply for existing permanent visas including the distinguished talent and skilled independent visa. This visa offers highly skilled  and talented individuals to work and live permanently in Australia. The government decision is to establish a pilot visa scheme which is designed to make it easier for the tech industry to recruit highly-skilled workers despite a low take up.

Australia to employ the best overseas workers using Global Talent Employer Sponsored Program (GTES)

The employers can sponsor overseas workers for highly-skilled positions under The Global Talent Employer Sponsored Program that cannot be filled by Australian workers and through standard visa programs like the Short-term stream and Medium-term stream of the Temporary Skill Shortage(TSS) visa. The Global Talent Employer Sponsored Program benefits Australia and Australian workers.
