Equivalent Worker Report is the report written for an equivalent position workers which contains the wage rate of an equivalent position to the nominee in the business. If there is no Australian worker in an equivalent position,the labour market is researched to identify the wages are being paid to Australian worker by referring to job sites, salary surveys and industry awards for similar positions. An Australian Worker who is more or less experienced than nominated employee and does similar work is not considered equivalent to the nominated employee.

What are the information required for completion of a Equivalent Worker report for Immigration?

Employers who wish to nominate workers for subclass 482, 186 and 187 must meet certain salary and employment condition requirements which helps to make sure that overseas workers are not paid less than an Australian worker who are doing same job in same location i.e. Annual Market Salary Rate(AMSR). If the overseas worker are paid less than AUD250,000 you should show that you have determined the AMSR correctly. The AMSR and salary paid to Australian worker excluding the non-monetary benefits should be no less than the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).

Annual market salary rate (AMSR)

The Annual market salary rate (AMSR) is determined by looking at what you would pay equivalent Australian workers, enterprise agreements or industrial awards, job outlook information, advertisements for the last 6 months in the same location, remuneration survey or advice from unions or employer associations.

There are different information that needs to be provided by workers to determine their AMSR when there is:

  • Equivalent Australian Worker based on an enterprise agreement or industrial award.
  • No equivalent worker but there is an enterprise agreement or industrial award.
  • No Equivalent worker or Agreement or Award

How long is the 482 visa valid for?
Your TSS visa will be approved for is two years if your occupation makes you eligible under the short-term stream. If your occupation makes you eligible under the medium-term stream, then the maximum time that your TSS visa will be approved for is four (4) years.
